Born 1971 in Germany, Sandra Spannan studied art, design and art history at the University of Würzburg, Germany and in different workshops and internships throughout Europe and New York. Ms. Spannan worked on murals and other interior design for the architectural firm “Raum und Form” in Nürnberg and Berlin. Her work was also shown in designer showcases and art exhibitions in Berlin, Nürnberg, Kassel and New York. In 1992, Ms. Spannan left Germany for New York City, where she founded see. Painting. In 1996, she designed and painted a large outdoor mural for the German House, opposite the UN.

Ms. Spannan went on to work on such legendary private interiors as the Rennert and Hess residences in Manhattan, also developing a reputation as somewhat of a painter for the stars, performing work for Tom Hanks and Billy Corgan (of the world-famous rock band Smashing Pumpkins), and painting sets for Martha Stewart, Michael J. Fox and celebrity photographer Marc Seliger. She continues to execute large-scale commercial projects, most recently working for the Whitney Museum of American Art, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Sotheby’s Auction House.

Ms. Spannan’s work and aspects of her life have been featured in Interior Design, Design Times, Woman’s Day and Italian travel/fashion magazine Gulliver.
